Hunter Outreach Program

Hunter Outreach Program

Programs for Youth, Women, Novices
The Hunter Outreach Program teaches novice and inexperienced hunters—of all ages—the knowledge, skills, ethics, and traditions of hunting. Through workshops, clinics, seminars, and educational hunts, the program appeals to diverse interests, backgrounds, and levels of ability. These special programs can help you make the most of your hunting pursuits, or help you take through the first steps toward becoming a part of our shared hunting heritage and tradition.

The Hunter Outreach Program consists of:

Youth Programs: These programs are specially designed to educate youth in the skills
that will lead them into a future of knowledge and respect for the heritage and traditions
of hunting.

Women Afield: For and about women, Women Afield is dedicated to teaching Colorado
women the outdoor skills found in the shooting sports, hunting, and fishing!

Elk Hunting University: In an effort to shed some light on pursuing one of Colorado’s
most elusive game animals, the Hunter Outreach program created EHU (Elk Hunting
University). You can read articles that share field-tested wisdom, tips, and advice from
contributing Hunter Outreach Huntmasters, field officers, and biologists.

Clinics and Seminars: The Hunter Outreach Program offers clinics and seminars
throughout the year to give both novice and experienced hunter’s opportunity to improve
upon hunting skills, practices, and techniques.

Huntsman & Huntmasters: The Hunter Outreach Program depends on trained
volunteers to support our outreach efforts. Huntmasters plan, coordinate, and run field
events to educate new hunters with hands on experiences.
